The Dutton Christmas Show 2007

Written by Suselit

If you are looking for Christmas, you will find it at The Dutton Theatre. We loved the new Christmas Show!
It began with a bit of the best of the regular season's show....including the new favorite Mary Poppins Chimney Sweep numbers and the very popular original Dutton Song, "I Will".
Then the Christmas music began about one third the way into the 2 hour performance.
The standout songs for me were Evette Dutton's original song "When the King was born" and Josh Dutton leading "Go Tell It On The Mountain". Both those songs have stayed with me and I find myself singing then in the car.
But there were many wonderful moments in the show...lots of great scenes and beautiful costumes.
One month old Baby Orson Dutton as Baby Jesus in the Manger Scene, Judith playing the lyrical flute, Josh and his hip harmonica, the children in the audience joining Santa and the Animals up on stage....Beautiful Mrs Claus and scene stealing Ben.Jr. were more that stand out in my memory.
We had such a wonderful Christmasy time!

What's new in this year's show?

Written by Suselit

There's alot new in the Dutton Family's 2007 Show.
New Costumes, New Original Music, and, best of all, a Big New Production Number featuring Benajmin Dutton with the Kids.

Each year The Duttons come up with a very clever way of showcasing the children. This year they have the best song and dance numbers to date from a very beloved Broadway Show and Movie. It was Perfection. What a crowd pleaser!
I told my husband that I hope we are able to continue coming to Branson so we can see those children become Stars of the Show. It doesn't look like that is too far off either judging by their performances this year.

But in the meantime, the rest of the Dutton Family Show was excellent.
My favorite number was "I Will" ,an original Dutton song, that was beautifully sung by the Tim and Judith, Ben and Brande, Joshua and Evette, and Jon and Bella.
Each couple sang a special verse and when all their voices sang the chorus it was so impressive and memoriable.

We have been going to see The Duttons during their regular season and to their Christmas shows for 5 years now. One of the reasons we return each year is because of the new material and the fresh way they present the old favorites.
The Duttons come up with new ideas and fun ways to entertain you....all based on their amazing musical talents. It seems like they are not content to present the same show, no matter how good that show is.
The Duttons like to surprise the audience each year with a wide variety of musical styles. And that's what my husband and I love about their show. That's why we have to see it each year. And that's why we recommend it.

What a treat it was to see The Dutton's Show on our trip! The family is just SO talented...and the show is wonderful. The melody that comes from that family, along with the dancing, and their performing on every instrument you can imagine, is just amazing. We loved the entire show...and especially the parts where they include the "little Duttons"...that is so sweet. They sing and perform all types of music...and do it all so well. I recommend this show to all "music lovers" out there...it's a real treat!

This talented family just keeps getting better. The funny little vacation video before the show is cute. If you are wanting good ol' banjo and fiddle playing this is the show. It's awesome how they can exchange instraments and not miss a beat. Dad wished that Amy would have yodeled..lol. Ben...he sure can dance. To see all the little one's on stage...how darling to see the future little performers. All around great family show.

Dutton's are true entertainers

9-30-05 Just got home after several days in Branson. The Dutton's were great - just as they were last year. I wouldn't miss their show. What a talented family! They are a definite "must see". They changed the show quite a bit from last year so it didn't seem like a complete repeat. Not only are they talented, but they are friendly and appreciative of their fans. We had ice cream at their diner after the concert and they came over and said Hi to us.

Too much fun!

OK, I'll admit it... the main reason we went to see the Duttons was because we needed a show to fill our schedule, and their price was right. I had also read reviews here at Branson.com that were very favorable and helped me to make my decision.

I wasn't at all prepared to fall in love with this show. We just arrived home from our 3rd trip to Branson this year. In all, we saw 13 shows this year... and this was the only show where my children begged to buy the DVD of the show! We actually went to see the Duttons on a Tuesday night. My girls loved the show... from the children in the show to Benjamin's comedy, everything was a hit. We bought the DVD that night and the Duttons were so kind to autograph the DVD cover for my girls. On Wednesday, my parents arrived and we just could not stop talking about the Duttons. The only solution was to take my parents to see the show, which we did yesterday evening! As I type this, my family is sitting and watching the DVD. My girls are 5 and 9, my son is 11, and they love this show! And so darn affordable!

Can't say enough about the value of seeing The Duttons. We'll definitely be back!

The 2005 Dutton Show - The Best One Yet!

My Husband and I are thrilled with the new Duttons Show. We did not want it to end...How do thay pack so much fun into a Show?

Musically, The Duttons are superb. Not only do they each play multiple instruments beautifully, they are able to play in multiple genres from bluegrass to classic music with amazing talent.

And their humor is good-natured and funny! The lady seated next to me leaned over and said, "Don't you just know their family gatherings are a riot?" Gosh, one can only imagine! But the audience does feel like we are part of their family gathering because The Duttons are so genuinely at ease. I think that's why we relax and just enjoy ourselves at their show.

This year, The Duttons perform several original shows...written by The Duttons...that was pretty cute. And there was a old fashioned movie serial to go with one of the songs. The whole family must support oneanother's creativity because they keep coming up with all this new stuff.

I think that even if you have seen The Duttons before...it's time to go see them again.

A Show I Always Recommend!

Written by Suselit

I saw The Duttons Show yesterday. As many Board Members may have guessed, The Duttons is one of my favorite shows. Yesterday's show was my first time to see it this season. I was with a group, none of who had see The Duttons before, so it was fun to watch their reactions. Of course, I did nudge a few friends and say "That's Benjamin...isn't he the cutest thing ever!". They also thought Benjamin was a standout...a great dancer and a very funny guy.

What I love about The Duttons is that they always add just the right mix of new material each year while they retain their signature songs...the ones you look forward to hearing again.

The theatre was filled and the crowd was enthusiastic. The time flew by because the show moved along with lots of variety and lots of fun. It was a treat to hear little Rachel sing by herself. She has inherited her family's musical talent.

I love the new clothes, the new "volunteer" from the audience number, the new songs and new surprises....it was a happy show...impossible not to have a good time at The Duttons....that's why I love to go see them.

I've had a good time talking about the Dutton Show with my group and what I kept hearing from them over and over was how impressed they were with all the different musical instruments that each Dutton plays so well.

I recall a discussion that we had here on the Board...."Is it Live or Memorex?" And I can varify that The Dutton Show is Live Music. And isn't that why you go and spend money to see a show...for the Live Entertainment including Live Music! In fact The Duttons won the Branson Critic Awards for The Best Band of 2004.

The Duttons is a Don't Miss Experience!!!

I had the privilege of being front row, center section for The Duttons' opening show on March 2. I have always loved this show, and was anticipating a great show as usual -- and I was certainly NOT diappointed!! In fact, I think this year's show is the best I've seen them do!

They opened with a great medley of songs, some of which they've done before, but also included some new ones. Timothy and Judith did another great dance number -- where DO they get that energy?! -- which delighted the audience!!

They have added quite a few new numbers this year, and re-worked some of their standards. You get to see even more of their incredible musical versatility this year, as they move easily from one style of music to another.

It's great to see even more Duttons involved in the show this year, with the Grandkids and Wives joining in the fun! There's also a great surprise addition this year which I don't want to spoil for people, but I guarantee you will be smilling and laughing right out loud!!

The Duttons are some of the best musicians in town, with all of them playing several different instruments, and they showcase their musical flexibility with the very different styles of music as well as the myriad instruments they incorporate into the their show. Throw in some very talented Grandkids, and you have one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an evening Branson with the entire family!!
