October 25-November 1...23 shows (Long)

What a week in Branson! I have to take the time to figure out how many times I have been there. I'm sure it's over 30. I just thought about this: 30 trips times 22 hours to get down and back is 660 hours which is just about a non-stop month in my car just getting there and home!
Entertainers: It's too bad if they aren't coming back. Great show. Great talent. Bucky Heard visits with people for as long as they want to stay. Class act. He said he loves the people on this board.
Rankins: One of my favorite new shows. Someone working there said that they are moving to the Starlite next spring, Tillis's will not be back on a regular basis and The Bellamy Brothers and Lee Greenwood will be regulars.
Joe Diffie: It was geat to see him using local talent. Paul Harris, Dino Strunk, Melody Hart. He played all of his hits. He greeted and took pictures with everyone who waited afterwards. He lived near my hometown growing up so we shared stories.
God and Country Theatre Late Night webcast:Can you imagine Paul Harris, Matt Gumm and Trent Wiedman without a script?? They were crazy. They brought the Cleverlys along. I made my boyfriend watch the webcast when I got home. The comedy definitely wasn't like it is live.
Hamner Barber: I can't help laughing when they tell us that Branson powers will only let them do the illusion if they cover the set in case it doesn't work so the audience won't see the girl hit the deadly knives!
The World Famous Platters at the Starlite: Yes, I saw them SIX times! Eddie, Andre, Willie, Yolanda and Rooster are great. The people who work at the theatre are very friendly too. I asked about the two Platters shows and basically know that it's not over yet...court battles, merchandise disputes...has anyone seen the rack cards for the "new" Platters? They are identical to TWF Platters rack cards from this summer. They just changed the picture to Freddy and the group. TWF Platters made new rack cards for themselves. I don't get it.
Dixieland Breakfast:This was the best meal that I have ever had at a Branson show. Ham, bacon, eggs, french toast sticks, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, fruit, coffecake, beverages served buffet style. Too early though: breakfast was 8 and we were done with the show by 9:40.
Clay Cooper:A must see show IMHO.
Comedy Jamboree:It needs a makeover. It is tired and doesn't flow.
Oak Ridge Boys: 6th row, center. Perfect seats. Great show. They did all of their hits, some new stuff (anyone know the name of the "boom, boom, boom" song that the bass singer does?)
Haygoods: They are all grown up! I will be interested in seeing what they do with the new theatre.
Breaking up is hard to Do: I'm still begging people to go see this and get it an audience. I've seen it four times this summer.
Tony Roi: I hadn't seen this in awhile. He is an interesting man on and off stage.
Bill Medley/Paul Revere and the Raiders: Paul was gone with a sore back and Darrin Medley was gone. A man named Darrin Dollar filled in. It was pretty disappointing. The Raiders did all of their songs in 20 minutes then McKenna Medley sang for 45 minutes. Darrin Dollar did a great job if he was filling it at the last minute for both of them, but it definitely wasn't the same. Bill Medley was top notch as always.
Pierce Arrow 3:00: This used to be my favorite show in Branson. I can't tell you what has changed, but it ranks closer to the bottom now. Without a doubt, DeAndre is the hit of the show. He is a technician that sings My Girl. He got the loudest applause of the afternoon.
Paul Harris:They had more Cleverly material than ever. When I catch my breath for a second, I love watching people who are seeing this for the first time. It's by far the hardest I laugh in Branson.
Duttons Christmas Show: What could I say that hasn't been said? Wow, it might have been 80 degrees outside but it was Christmas inside!
Grand Jubilee Christmas: I love this show too. They are constantly updating/changing wardrobes. The Christmas outfits were great. The show is fast paced, colorful, and energetic.
Chrismas Parade at the Landing: Great fun, but merchants were complaining about the way it was set up. There were two stops for entertainers to sing so all of the people were at those two locations and could not spread out.
I can't even think about the fact that I might not get back their until June! I'm going to have to live through this board.

I am glad to see the YMCA is alive and well.....I know you whoo hooed a couple of times for me. We are going to Paul Harris this Friday night and I can not wait. Glad you had a good trip and made it home safe!!

I actually have a stalker story for you, Rita! A lady at the Platters told me that she loves Eddie and when I told him that he said, "Did she show you what she did? She tattooed the words to one of my songs on her calf and has shown me pictures of her bedroom. Her walls are covered in pictures of me!" The lady had already told me that but I didn't believe her!

I believe the name of the boom boom boom song is Elvira

Can anyone expand more on the Hamner Barber show? I hear it's really really good...is it more of a variety show?

Who is leaving at the Starlite? Moe Bandy is still at the 2:00 this year and the Platters are in the morning slot this year.

That's kind of scary! Hope he watches out for himself.
