DH and I were wanting pizza tonight. I told him Mr. G's was downtown and I had heard good reviews, so we decided to try it. We wanted it to go (so we could watch Survivor), but we had no idea what they had, so we went in to order. We sat down and Sharmane (sp?) waited on us (she was great). We ordered a couple of draft beers, while we looked at the menu and then placed our order to go. Everything looked so good, we couldn't decide. So, we got an assortment. First thing was Crab Rolls...they're on the appetizer part of the menu. They reminded me of little "taquitos" but they were filled with the same filling that's in crab-rangoons. They are served with honey mustard and they were fabulous. I could make a meal out of them. Then we had a "Mini" Spinach/Artichoke pizza (the size of a personal pan pizza), with white/alfredo sauce instead of red pizza sauce. All pizzas come in Mini, Small, Medium, or Large. Since we were just trying things, we ordered a Mini. You also get your choice of thin crust or Chicago-style...we chose Chicago-style for that one. Another fabulous choice. My next trip there, I'm having crab rolls and a mini spinach-artichoke pizza...that's all. We got a small thin crust with our choices...Italian Sausage, Roast Beef, Canadian Bacon, and Pepperoncini peppers. Can't say enough good things about this pizza. But, even though I'm a "thin crust" person, I liked the Chicago-Style the best. Last thing we ordered was the hot wings. I wasn't too fond of them...I think they were pretty much all Frank's Hot Sauce. Too hot and too vinegary. We'll skip the wings next time. There are too many other great items. We decided that we liked the atmosphere so much, it'll probably be our "new favorite place" to go eat. We'll probably eat-in, next time. They are located at 202 N Commercial Street, in Downtown Branson. She said they are open until 9pm, but they like to have the last order in, by 8pm.

Mellie, next time you go, share an Andy Williams salad....it's marvelous.
Do you know they make their own Italian sausage there? If you ask nicely, you can buy it by the lb. but they don't make it every day so you have to hit them at the right time! My favorite: thin crust Italian sausage, mushroom, onion and banana peppers. YUMMMM! |

Just a warning to everyone. Mr. G's is a bar atmosphere. There are tables and booths but smoking is allowed in the entire restaurant. For those who do not like smoking in restaurants, you might want to get your orders to go. They do have take-out for the full menu.

Lettuce mix (with shredded carrots and cabbage and stuff) and pepperoni and tomatoes and onions and mushrooms and I don't know what else. The dressing reminded me of Wishbone Italian Dressing...the kind you have to shake because all of those little things are floating in it.

Take sliced french bread and toast it under the broiler (about half-way). Then, use a basting brush (or a new paintbrush) and brush Wishbone Italian Dressing on it. Then put shredded parmesan cheese on top of that and finish toasting it. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!
